Outages Almost Completely Over as Holiday Weekend Arrives

Just a handful still reported across the town

The start of the holiday weekend appears to be marking the end of the power outages brought on by Hurricane Irene.

According to JCP&L's website, there are just 12 outages reported across Howell on the Friday of Labor Day Weekend. At one point there were at least 10000 people reported to be without power, but that number has dropped on an almost daily basis.

Just yesterday there were 114 outages reported in Howell which was a big drop from the more than 2000 outages reported on Wednesday. For the most part, the news is better throughout the Monmouth and Ocean county areas. Freehold still has 1600 outages reported to the utility, the highest number in the county. That is also more than one sixth of the entire outages reported for the county.
