Snow Could Make For Sloppy Monday Morning Commute

Winter Weather Advisory issued for local area

For those who do not get a three-day weekend for Presidents Day, Monday morning could present a messy commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of the area including Howell. Starting around midnight tonight, snow could arrive and could mix with sleet in the morning before turning to rain.Total accumulations are expected to be in the 2-to-4 inch range.

As of 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Howell was expected to fall closer to the two-inch range according to the latest predictions from the weather service. Howell Township Manager Helene Schlegel sent out an email to residents on Sunday night warning them about the approaching storm. The email said,  "The Township will be monitoring weather updates and will respond as necessary."

One part of township life that will not be affected is schools as both the Howell Township Public Schools and Freehold Regional High School District schools are closed for the holiday.Check Howell Patch on Monday for any closings or further weather-related information.
