The Sights and Sounds of Rebel Pride

More to Friday night football than just the game

Friday night marked the return of Friday night football to Howell High School, and with the Rebels picking up the against their rivals from Freehold Township, it was certainly a good way to get back to the fall tradition.

And while the football team took center stage for much of the night, they were not the only stars taking the field. In front of a packed house other members of the Howell community showed off their various talents. With Rebel Yell performing the national anthem and the Howell cheerleaders and dance team strutting their stuff at halftime, there was plenty to get the crowd fired up under the stadium lights.

Even in their first home performance of the year, the Howell Marching Rebels looked to be in midseason form with their tribute to music legend Ray Charles.

Friday night also marked the grand reopening of the snack bar at Howell High School with the hot dogs, hamburgers and other treats helping to warm up the chilly air. Fans looking to show off their rebel pride also had the chance to buy merchandise that can last them through the year. Between the PAT and the football parent's club, there was plenty for to buy for those who were interested.

The fun will continue this coming Friday when the Rebels will welcome the Mustangs of Marlboro High School for another A North contest.
