Thousands Lose Power as Storm Arrives

Outages reported across the state

What is predicted to be a powerful storm rolling through the area has left thousands without power even before the full force of the storm has been felt. 

According to JCP&L's website more than 2,300 outages have been reported in Howell to go along with 2,100 reported outages in neighboring Freehold.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Monmouth County until 8:45 tonight and a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 p.m. The warning indicates the possibility of damaging winds, hail and lightning as the storm moves through.
