UPDATE: Zoning Board Cancelled

Five things to know for Monday, Oct. 17

1. The National Weather Service says Howell should see a high temperature today of 69 degrees on a mostly sunny day. Despite the relatively warm start for the middle of October, the mercury should drop considerably tonight with a low around 49 at the coldest point. 

Despite sun in the forecast for today and tomorrow, there is a prediction for around an inch of rain from tomorrow night into Wednesday night. 

2. The Howell High School sports teams figure to have a busy day today. The volleyball team will travel to Rumson-Fair Haven in a non-divisional match. Also, the tennis team is scheduled to make the long trip down to Barnegat to take on the Bengals. In A North action, the girls soccer team will host Marlboro while the boys will take to the road to take on the Mustangs.

3. This is a busy week for meetings, which was supposed to start today with a zoning board meeting. That meeting was cancelled but the council will meet tomorrow and a planning board meeting will be held on Thursday. The agenda has not yet been posted for tonight's zoning board meeting.

4. The Howell Library will be hosting a bullying program tonight starting at 6:30. It will be held by Rob Imperato who is a certified life empowerment coach and the director of Self Empowerment Coaching LLC. Imperato held a similar event at the Library in .

5. Several celebrities share a birthday today including director Rob Marshall, rapper Eminem and Golfer Ernie Els. Legendary actress would have been 93 today and today would have been playwright Arthur Miller's 96th birthday.
