A Year After Sandy: Moving New Jersey Forward
One year after
Hurricane Sandy hit New Jersey our coastal communities are focused on
rebuilding. We need to look at what happened in the past but more importantly
look forward at what we can do better. We
need to implement policies that ensure our coast will be more resilient to
future storms including restoring dunes and natural systems and better planning
regulations, pulling back from the most vulnerable areas, and ensuring there is
affordable housing so families that have enjoyed the shore for generations can
continue to do so.
Join us for a panel
discussion focused on how we move the state forward in Sandy’s aftermath.
We will be looking at innovative
policies that can be used along the shore to create affordable housing, protect
the Barnegat Bay as we rebuild, and implement better coastal planning to keep
families out of harm’s way.
