Volunteer Advocates Needed For Domestic Violence Response Teams

180 Turning Lives Around will be conducting its annual Spring DVRT (Domestic Violence Response Team) 40 Hour Training starting March 18 through April 10, Tues/Wed/Thurs evenings, 6p - 9:30p at the Manalapan Municipal Complex.  The DVRT advocates are civilian members of the community who are trainied to work in collaboration with local law enforcement throughtout Monmouth County to assist victims of domestic violence at their time of crisis.  The trained volunteer advocates provide emotional support, local resources and options that are available to victims at their time of crisis.  Indentities of advocates are kept anonymous.  Requirements are must be 18 yrs of age or older, have access to reliable transportation/valid drivers license, submit to a background investigation, fingerprinting and able to complete the mandatory 40 hr training.  For more information or application contact Tina Morgan, Asst Victim Support Program Coord (732) 264-4360, ext 4272, tinam@180nj.org or visit our web-site: www.180nj.org.  Deadline for submitting application is March 1, 2014.  DVRT services are available 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault at local police departments throughout Monmouth County.
