Georgian Court University Offers Annual Job and Graduate School Fair

Polish your shoes and your résumés in preparation for GCU's Annual Job, Internship, Graduate School, and Education Career Fair.

Polish your shoes and your résumés in preparation for Georgian Court University’s Annual Job, Internship, Graduate School, and Education Career Fair on Thursday, April 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. More than 50 schools and employers will be on hand for the fair, which will take place in the Wellness Center on the university’s Lakewood campus. The fair is free and open to the public.

“It’s a great opportunity to network with local and national employers so they can connect a face with the résumé,” says Kate Moore, GCU director of career development. “That gives you a leg up on the competition.”

Attendees can expect to learn about full-time and part-time job opportunities and internships from companies and school districts like Prudential, Verizon Wireless, TD Bank, and the Trenton Board of Education as well as programs for advanced study from schools like Rutgers University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Stockton College. For more information, including a complete list of participating employers and schools, e-mail careers@georgian.edu.

Ms. Moore says that the career fair experience is all about being prepared and notes that participants should bring copies of their résumé and dress professionally.

“Be prepared to have a quick interview with prospective employers and schools. Know how to put your best foot forward by telling prospective employers about your skills and experience,” she says. “If there’s a particular employer or school you’re interested in, demonstrate your knowledge about them by asking specific questions about the company or academic program.”
