Superbowl Beer Bread and B.L.T Dip

These two incredibly easy recipes are perfect for the Sunday football host.

Not a great cook or baker, but sick of buying everything pre-made from the busy grocery store? These are two incredibly easy recipes, perfect for your Superbowl parties, or even to bring to a party as a gift for the host.

Beer Bread

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Spray or grease a loaf pan.

  • 3 cups of self-rising flour
  • 1 12. oz can of any beer (darker beers will give you more of an alcohol flavor, while lighter generic beers will have a lighter flavor).
  • 3 tbsp. of sugar or more (add up to 1/2 cup. The more you add, the "cakier" it will taste).
  • 1 or 2 pats of melted butter (to be brushed on top of baked bread)

Mix the flour, sugar and beer together. The batter will be sticky and slighty lumpy.

Cook for 60 minutes. When there are 3 minutes left, brush the melted butter on top of the loaf with a pastry brush and put the bread back in the oven.

THAT'S IT! Barely any dishes to wash, barely any effort. Tastes delicious warm, but be sure to cover in foil to save it because the crust will get hard if left out too long.

B.L.T Dip

This recipe may be rough for a baker, because nothing is exact. But the dip is perfect with crackers, pita bread, or on top of that beer bread you just made.

Add everything to taste -- all depending on your own taste buds, and the amount you'd like to make.

  • Mayo (lite or regular)
  • 1/2 to one whole large tomato
  • Fried bacon or bacon bits
  • Shredded lettuce

Dice tomato into small pieces. Either fry bacon (as much or as little as you'd like, although of course--the more bacon the better) or use bacon bits. Toss in bowl, add mayo until it is to your taste. Mix together, add parsley or basil if you'd like.

In your serving dish, put shredded lettuce as a "bed" for the dip on the bottom. Spoon in your dip, and serve!

Go Giants!!
