Matthews said when the event was first held only 120 people came out. Since that time the crowd has grown many times over. "We kept at it and now it is a very large event," he said. "Thanks to our sponsors we can continue to add entertainment, food and things for the kids to do as well."

Starting as the brainchild of former PBA President Kevin Stout, Matthews said it has become a special day not only for the people who come out to enjoy the day but also the ones responsible for making it happen. "Oktoberfest is special because it's a family event, you can show up dressed however you want, and to quote almost everyone I speak to 'I can't believe all that you get for the ticket price,'" Matthews added.
