The Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center was created to put the needs of traumatized children first.

Run by the County Prosecutor's Office, it is where police and counselors can offer a coordinated response to children who have suffered sexual and physical child abuse.

The center was built by the county and opened on Kozloski Road in Freehold in 2009. According to the Friends of the MCCAC, the center handles more than 400 cases of child abuse each year. A $2.3 million Phase II fundraising campaign to add a medical suite, therapy rooms and office space is underway.

On January 15 at 7 pm, an information session about the project will be presented at the Monmouth Reform Temple at 332 Hance Avenue in Tinton Falls. It is sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Greater Red Bank and the Temple's Social Action Committee

Speakers at the event include MCCAC Board Secretary Lynn Reich, Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Peter Boser, Retired Police Detective Eric S. Rice and Child Advocacy Center Social Worker Sue Rekedal.

Recently, Assistant Prosecutor Boser spoke with Cynthia Scott about the center for the county's public information production, Monmouth in Focus. Click on the video attached to this article to hear Boser describe how the center operates.

Youngsters nowadays are becoming more aggressive to some point that they can just do anything they want. As parents, we should be aware of our kid's whereabouts especially our young teens. We also need to make sure that they're not involved with any of these incidents or worse, the victims themselves. So to prevent this from happening, I provided my young teens with an service for safety and protection. It is a personal panic alarm system using only your cell phone as your saving tool. Plus there are other features too that will help them avoid possible dangers. Having this kind of service reduced my anxiety. I can now check my teens location anytime I want. I did truly recommend this service to my friends and relatives. Check it out: https://login.safekidzone.com/Relentless-Protection-For-Our-Kids-With-a-Cell-Phone/?a_aid=514ae2c64ba1d&a_bid=dc55bebf
