Former County Employee, Veteran Dies at 71

Pierce R. Capell, 71, of Howell Township passed away on Thursday at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township. 

Pierce was born in Staten Island and had lived in Howell Township for the last 10 years, moving from Freehold. He was a senior data processor for Monmouth County retiring 10 years ago. Pierce was Veteran of the US Navy, and a member of the Navy League of Monmouth County, Monmouth County Republican Club and the Monmouth County Boy Scouts. He was also a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold.

Pierce is survived by two sons, Pierce F. Capell of Vermont and Robert Capell of Philadelphia, PA; one daughter, Elizabeth Mary Capell of West Chester, PA.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, July 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday, July 15 at 9 a.m. for the procession to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold for his 10 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment will  follow in Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, NJ.
