Janet Lee Petro, Head Housekeeper for Freehold Day's Inn, Dies at 70

The Howell resident is survived by four children.

Janet Lee Petro, 70, of Howell Township died Tuesday, Jan. 15 at home. Petro was born in the Smithburg section of Freehold Township and had resided in the Freehold area all her life.

She was head housekeeper for Day’s Inn of Freehold.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph Petro, Jr. and James Joel Petro; two daughters, Christine Thomas and Francine Enright; a stepson, Frank Petro; a stepdaughter, Joann Petro; a brother, Tennent Emmons three sisters, Vera Baggitt, Bertha Reynolds, and Dolores King; 13 grandchildren; and a great grandson.

Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
