Obituary: Brian McDonough, 22

Former member of Rebel basketball and soccer teams

Brian McDonough, 22, Howell Township died peacefully  Monday, December 24, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  He was born in Long Branch and was a lifelong resident of Howell Township.  

Brian is survived by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Christol McDonough of Howell; one sister, Christa Porta and her husband, David of Howell; his paternal grandparents, Mac and Carol McDonough of Fort Lauderdale, FL; one nephew, Parker Porta; his cousins who were like a brother and sister, Christol and Kevin Wagner; three aunts and one uncle; and his pride and joy, his Siberian Husky, Nikkita.

Brian was a graduate of Howell High School Class of 2009 and excelled as a member of the Varsity Soccer and Varsity Basketball teams.   Brian was a barback at The Chelsea in Atlantic City.  He was a Senior at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey where he was on the Dean’s List and majoring in Business.   His love for his car was only surpassed by his love for his family and his home.

Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524). Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment to follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.  For information, directions or condolence messages, visit www.claytonfuneral home.com.
