Obituary: David Paulson, 73, of Howell; Volunteer Fire, First Aid Member

David Paulson, 73, of Howell passed away on Tuesday, June 03, 2014 at CareOne at Holmdel.  Dave was born to the late Charles and Martha More Paulson, on March 24, 1941 in Plainfield.  He graduated from Millburn High School in 1960 and received a BA in Business Management from Nichols College, Dudley, MA in 1964.  Dave married Nancy A. Marshall that same year.  They lived in Millburn, Shelton, CT and Colts Neck where they stayed for 22 years before settling in Howell in 2001.  He was a volunteer fireman at the Millburn/Short Hills Fire Department, Colts Neck #2 Fire Department and the Colts Neck First Aid Squad.  Dave was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He loved to fish, hunt, travel and spend time with his grandchildren.

Dave is survived by his wife, Nancy Paulson; his children, David M. Paulson and his partner, Sarah Baumgaertner of Freehold; Wendy A. Finnigan and her husband, Ed of Howell; and Chad E. Paulson and his wife, Julie of Freehold; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.   A private graveside service will be held on Friday.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dave’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ  07834-1365.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
