Obituary: Donald Byron Ritzman, 80

Worked at Fort Monmouth

Donald Byron Ritzman, 80, of Howell, NJ passed away at his residence on Sunday, September 2, 2012.  Donald was born in Glasgow Iowa. He was an electrical engineer for the U.S. government at Fort Monmouth for twenty-four years before retiring in 1986.  He was a parishioner of the Open Door Baptist Church in Howell, NJ. 

Donald is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Byrdie Ritzman; six daughters, Donna Pabon and her husband, Dave of Manchester, Diana Caufield and her husband, Eugene of Howell, Teresa Merklin and her husband, Steve of Kenly, NC, Elizabeth Stok and her husband, Henk of Elberon, Rebecca Luciano and her husband, Roberto of Neptune and Allyson Prahl and her husband, Fredrick Jr. of Frisco, TX; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Jack Ritzman of Dallas, TX and Bob Ritzman of Yarmouth Iowa and many loving extended family members and friends.

Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Brig. General Wm C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 250 Provinceline Rd., Arneytown, NJ.
