Obituary: Gerald G. Nekrasz, 71

Lived in Howell since 1981

Gerald G. Nekrasz, 71, of Howell Township passed away at home on Thursday, September 20, 2012.  Gerald was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA and had lived in Irvington before settling to Howell in 1981.  He was a systems engineer for Blonder-Tongue, Old Bridge for forty-two years retiring in 2004.  Gerald was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved to tend to his garden.

Gerald was predeceased by his wife, Joan in 2011.  He is survived by his two sons, Christopher Nekrasz and his wife, Denise of Howell and Jeffrey Nekrasz of Philadelphia, PA; two grandsons, Matthew and Andrew; a sister, Nancy VasKorlis of Washington Twp.; a niece Shawna Manfredi of Washington Twp; and his aunt, Lillian Reese and her husband, Joseph of Lady Lake, FL.

Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be in Brig. Gen. William C.
