Obituary: Mary Elizabeth Ascough, 45

Volunteered with Pinelanders Soccer Club

Mary Elizabeth Ascough, 45, of Howell passed away surrounded by her family at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune on Thursday, December 13, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Mary was born in New Brunswick and had lived in Old Bridge before settling to Howell in 1989. She was a Veterinary Technician for Dr. Gary Levi, Jackson.  

Mary was a member of Pi Theta Kappa Fraternity at Brookdale Community College, Alpha Pi Theta Chapter and served as State President from 2005 to 2006.  She also represented the Student Body on the Board of Trustees at the College.  For many years, Mary volunteered as a coach for Pinelanders Soccer, Howell.   

Mary was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Costello.  She is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Ascough; two sons, Michael Ascough and his wife, Jamie and Matthew Ascough; a daughter, Julia Ascough; her father, Joseph Costello; two brothers, John Costello and his wife, Judith and Matthew Costello and his wife, Theresa; three sisters, Kathleen Meekins and her husband, James, Patricia McFadden and her husband, Keith and Judith Lempfert and her husband, Robert and many nieces and nephews.
