Community Corner

Pre-teen and teen volunteers needed

“Share the Gift” Program

Riccio Pick-Me-Ups is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization that brings inspiration, joy, financial aid and awareness for individuals facing medical hardships.  From bringing joy to sick children/elderly, raising money for families in need, to empowering students, RPMU has many ways to better the community. We are looking for pre-teens (10-13) and young adults (14-21), to help volunteer with our very positive, enthusiastic group. (Parents can join too)

Pre-teens must commit once a month for activities (such as creating crafts and cards for sick kids), and once a month to meet with their mentor. Volunteers must commit to at least one hospital visit or other event, and a volunteer/mentor meeting each month. We will pair an older volunteer to mentor a younger volunteer. Each volunteer must participate and or volunteer at least one major fundraiser each year (Fashion Show at the end of the Summer; Talent Show at the end of Winter).

Must have an interest in helping the community, interact with other peers, and have an understanding of people with disabilities and illnesses. (We will also bring awareness in this group). You must enjoy the like the arts in some way shape or form: dancing, singing, acting, comedy, art, writing, music, games and just having fun!
