Brick Resident Crashes Into Ramtown Bank

Bank remained open after inspection.

A Brick resident brought new meaning to the term drive thru banking this morning when she crashed his car into the Sovereign Bank branch in Ramtown.

Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd of the Howell Police Department reported that at around 9:04 Thursday morning 71-year-old Carol Walsh was driving a 2004 Hyundai Sonata when she hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and crashed into the bank.

Dodd said Walsh sustained minor facial cuts and there was some damage to the building. A Township building inspector responded to the scene and determined that the building was structurally sound and that the bank could remain open.
