Man left the store with audio equipment as an accomplice cleared a path, according to Howell police.

A Connecticut man was jailed over the weekend on shoplifting charges stemming from a weekend arrest.

Troy D. Whitehead, 45, of Hartford, Conn., was arrested and charged with shoplifting and conspiracy to commit robbery on Saturday, according to an arrest record.

Whitehead took a sound system valued at just less than $1,500 from a Howell Best Buy store without paying, Howell police said. His accomplice, George Dillion III, pushed someone out of the way, clearing a path for Whitehead to leave the store with the audio equipment, according to the warrant.
