County Courthouse to Remain Closed Monday

The court is still waiting on results from the tests taken last week.

The Monmouth County Courthouse will remain closed on Monday as officials await the results of testing to determine what has made employees ill recently.

Tests were conducted last Thursday and Friday and the building has been . According to a press release from the county testing has been done for "volatile compounds, mold, pollen, dust and other common allergens." All the results from those tests came back negative.

The testing came on the heels of employees reporting feeling various symptoms including shortness of breath, skin rash and elevated blood pressure. The employees reported feeling ill on June 15 as well as last Monday when the building was closed for the rest of the week.

After the tests were finished the building was given a thorough cleaning again on Friday night. The timing of the reopening of the building will depend on a review of the testing by state health officials. Those results are expected to come tomorrow.
