Howell Man Thrown From Car In Wall Township Collision

Man was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with serious injuries

A Howell resident was ejected from his vehicle Sunday after a crash in Wall Township, police said.

John Lecorchick, 40, was thrown from his Chevy Blazer when he collided with an FJ Cruiser traveling east on Route 138 near the intersection with Allenwood Road in Wall Township around 4:38 p.m., Wall police said.

Lecorchick suffered serious injuries, police said, and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township, by Wall Township First Aid Squad and MONOC Paramedics.

The driver and passenger of the other vehicle -- Daniel C. Alpaugh, 58, and Patricia Romano, 56, both of Spring Lake Heights -- suffered less serious injuries and also were taken to Jersey Shore, police said.

The collision shut eastbound Route 138 for about 3.5 hours, police said.

The collision is currently under investigation by the Wall Township Police Department and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Unit.
