Howell Police Investigating K-Mart Theft

Stolen credit cards used after being taken from woman's diaper bag.

A trip by a Beachwood woman to the K-Mart in Howell ended with her wallet being taken from her diaper bag while her child sat in the shopping cart.

Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd of the Howell Police Department reported that on Sunday at 4:50 the woman was shopping in the store when she reported two black females in their 40s started talking to her. The woman reported that while she was talking to one of the women the other removed the wallet from her bag.

Dodd said credit cards in the wallet were used immediately after they were stolen and used in many stores in Howell as well as Hamilton Township. The suspects were caught on surveillance video as was their vehicle and the Howell Police Department is investigating the incident.
