One customer was hurt when a car crashed through the front of a local business last week.
According to Ptl. Scott Brooks of the Howell Police Department a 71-year-old man drove his 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer through the front of the Pep Boys on Route 9 last Thursday afternoon. Brooks said the driver reported his foot slipping off the break and hitting the gas sending the car over the curb and through the window.
Brooks said the crash damaged the windows and the framing as the driver also attempted unsuccessfully to back out of the building. The driver of the car was uninjured but a customer reportedly suffered a minor leg injury from flying debris and was taken for treatment at CentraState Medical Center.
The store was temporarily closed for repairs but reopened the next day. No summonses have been issued as a result of the crash.
