Howell Resident Faces Assault Indictment

Alleged Incident occurred on May 18

A Monmouth County Grand Jury indicted 28-year-old Kevin Wells, a Howell Township resident, on several charges stemming from an incident in May. 

The charges against Wells include third degree assault by auto, two counts of fourth degree assault by auto, and fourth degree tampering with physical evidence. According to the indictment on May 18 of this year Wells was driving "recklessly causing injury to other people. The tampering charges stem from him allegedly "discarding a bag containing marijuana."

  • John Collins, 51, also a resident of Howell was indicted on charges of third degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, third degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth degree unlawful possession of a weapon. The indictment states that Collins attempted to attack another person with a hammer which was the cause of the weapons charge.
