Motor Vehicle Accident On Herbertsville Road Near Thursday's Fatal

Police responding to 'minor' two-car MVA

Howell Township police are investigating what they describe as a 'minor' motor vehicle accident at the site of Thursday's accident, which claimed the life of an 18-year-old Farmingdale man.

Both accidents took place near Circle A Horse Farm, between Route 547 and Newton's Corner Road.

Saturday's 5 p.m. accident involved two cars. Minor injuries were reported, police said.

No further information was available on Saturday's accident.

Jeffrey Smith, 18, of Farmingdale died Friday at 5 p.m. from injuries suffered in Thursday's crash, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.

Smith collided with a 2001 Honda driven by 74-year-old Nicholas Spinelli of Freehold, officials said. Also in the car was Spinelli's wife Concetta.

The Spinelli's suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.
