No Injuries Reported in Crash at Fish Market

Building sustains damage that will need to be repaired

A customer at Woolley's Fish Market at the intersection of Route 9 and Strickland Rd. crashed into the building late Friday afternoon. 

According to Officer John Lopez of the Howell Police Department, at approximately 4:38 p.m. the customer reported that when attempting to use their brakes the gas pedal got stuck resulting in the car going into the building. 

Lopez said that no injuries were reported as a result of the crash. He added at the time there were believed to only be employees of the market in the building.

In addition to the Howell Police Department and the Adelphia Fire Department, the Howell Township building department also reported to the scene. While a temporary wall was being constructed, Lopez said more permanent work will need to be done before the business can open again. 

The Monmouth County Health Department also responded to the scene following the crash.

Officer Lopez is the investigating officer at the scene with Sgt. Tom Rizzo serving as the supervising officer.
