No Injuries Reported in Fort Plains Road Fire

Mutual aid from Jackson helps extinguish fire.

When a family on Fort Plains Road returned home on Tuesday night they found a fire in their garage that eventually spread to the house.

Sgt. Thomas Weg of the Howell Police Department reported that the fire, which was reported at around 9:30 p.m. did not result in any injuries as nobody was home at the time. Several local fire departments responded to the scene of the fire including the Freewood Acres, Adelphia and Squankum Fire Departments in Howell.

Weg said mutual aid was provided by Jackson Fire Department Number 1, the Jackson Mills Fire Department and the Cassville Fire Department. The Howell First Aid Squad and Howell Fire Bureau were also called to the scene.
