Pedestrian Struck by Car Crossing Route 9 Suffers Minor Injuries

Incident occurred at Route 9 and Moroz Street

A 68-year-old Howell resident was struck while crossing route 9 at just after 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

According to Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd of the Howell Police Department Marie Juckiewicz was crossing Route 9 north near Moroz Street when she was hit by a 1995 Mercedes driven by 25-year-old Garrett Weber of Brick.

Juuckiewicz sustained minor injuries according to Dodd and was treated for facial lacerations and a swollen hand by the Howell EMS Squad and paramedics from Monoc. Dodd said she was taken to CentraState Medical Center for her injuries.

The incident is being investigated by Ptl. Eric Encarnation but Dodd said no summonses had been issued so far.
