Point Boro Man Killed in Howell crash

Boro man's motorcycle was hit by large SUV

A Point Borough man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle in Howell, police said.

Scott Incalcatera, 41, was killed when his motorcycle was struck near the intersection of Route 547 and Miller Road on Saturday, police said.

Isidor S. Palmeri, 35, of Jackson was attempting to make a left turn from the northbound lane in his 2013 GMC Yukon when he struck Incalcatera who was traveling south, said Howell Police Sgt.  Joseph Markulic.

Markulic said Incalcatera, who was not originally identified pending family notification, attempted to stop and put the motorcycle on its side before being hit by the truck. The motorcycle was identified as a 2002 Suzuki GSXR 750.

Incalcatera was pronounced dead at the scene. Palmeri was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he was treated and released. A passenger in his vehicle was not injured in the crash.

Also responding to the crash were personnel from MONOC, the Ramtown Fire Department and First Aid Squads, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, the Monmouth County SCART and the Monmouth County Road Department.

Markulic said summonses are pending investigation. The crash is being investigated by the Howell Police Department and anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to call Markulic at 732-938-4575 ext. 2831 or Officer Scott Brooks at ext. 2185.

@stephanie... i'm sure you're friend is a great guy and i'm sure he didn't set out to "kill" anyone that day. the problem is, he did kill someone that day. a very sweet, cherished man who was a newly wed. his wife will never hear his laugh again, or see his smile. we will never see the great things that scott was sure to accomplish. this all because of a foolish and selfish act of having to beat someone because they were in a bigger vehicle and in their own mind, way more important.

Scott was my college roommate's brother, and an all around nice guy. As other's have said, an engineer, newlywed, and safe motorcycle driver. If the Yukon driver was on the phone, some charges should be filed. Reckless driver. RIP Scott, you are deeply missed.

Exactly my thoughts. He was my dear friend for nearly 15 years and I want to make sure the responsible parties are held responsible. I have become great friends with his lovely bride Denise. Yes, it was an accident. LET THIS BE A LESSON LEARNED : don't text or talk unless its thru Bluetooth type devices while driving. I see it constantly. ITS AGAINST THE LAW!! There is a reason for the warning. My big brother Scottie was taken from us. Not fair.
