Police Release Update on Aldrich Crash

Driver issued summons after accident

The driver responsible for in front of was issued a summons for failure to remain in his lane as a result of the crash. 

According to Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd of the Howell Police Department 26-year-old Daniel Vallecillo, 26, of Howell was driving a 2002 Chevrolet bus registered to Laidlaw Transit Inc. in Neptune.

Vallecillo told police he fell asleep at the wheel when he struck a utility pole in front of the building. On board the bus were six passengers, some of whom were treated for minor injuries.

Colette Brylinski of Sayreville was not injured during the crash. Glen Stetter of Howell suffered a visible cut to the right side of his face and was taken to Centrastate Medical Center. Eileen Weber, Chris Mercado and Donna Dolan of Howell as well as Edward young of Englishtown showed no visible injuries but were taken to the hospital for observation as well. 

As a result of the accident Aldrich Rd. was closed for several hours and the school was momentarily without power during dismissal.
