Storm-Related Power Outages Hit Monmouth County

Over 1,700 were without power Monday afternoon, according to Jersey Central Power & Light.

The wet, heavy snow is leading to power outages across Monmouth County, according to the Jersey Central Power & Light outage map.

Over 1,700 households were without power as of 2 p.m. on Monday. Marlboro was most affected with 929 homes without power. Holmdel had the second largest report of outages with 481.

Other towns reporting more than five outages in Monmouth included Aberdeen, Asbury Park, Colts Neck, Hazlet, Matawan, Middletown, Ocean and Tinton Falls.

Thanks for doing what the APP seems incapable of doing. All day, the JCPL map has lit up with outages. The local police radio has been buzzing with reports of downed wires all through the area. Yet this is the only story online at the moment which addresses the issue.
