Residents Urged to Lock Their Car Doors Following Weekend Break Ins

Several residents' cars hit over the weekend

The is reporting that more than 30 cars were illegally entered this past weekend and residents are encouraged to lock their cars in an effort to keep their belongings safe. 

Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd said that 22 unlocked cars were entered in the Pointe O'Woods development early Sunday morning. Dodd said nine of the cars had nothing taken while others had items like GPS systems, cameras, loose change, sunglasses and CD's taken. 

In the Glen Arden development there were nine cars illegally entered. Dodd said five cars were left untouched. Items taken in that group included three iPods and two pairs of sunglasses.

Dodd said the best thing residents can do is lock their doors when they are not in their cars to protect their items.
