Squankum Dive Team Helps With Jackson Search

Remains found near Lake Enno

A dive team from the Squankum Fire Department was one of several local first responder groups to help with a search in Jackson on Friday morning.

According to a press release from the Jackson Police Department the search began at 10 a.m. this morning for a male off of Bennetts Mills Rd. On Thursday night the man's car was located in the area and an initial search was suspended close to midnight because of darkness and "heavy foliage," the release said.

This morning the remains of the man were found in the river, 100 yards away from the Lake Enno Spillway. The Jackson police said there is no evidence of foul play and the identity of the man is being withheld pending further investigation and notification of his family.
