State Police Investigate Handgun Found on Side of 195

Gun located during inmate litter duty

The New Jersey State Police were investigating a handgun that was found on the side of Interstate 195 on Tuesday afternoon.

Sgt. Adam Grossman said an inmate bus was doing litter patrol in the area of mile marker 25 in Jackson when the handgun was found. Grossman said when the gun was found State Troopers were notified and took the gun into custody. 

The investigation was continuing according to Grossman. In May troopers were conducting investigations in the same area. Sgt. Grossman said he was unsure if the two incidents were related.
