UPDATE: Township Offices Expected to Open on Wednesday

Meeting will be rescheduled for a different date

With temperatures still in the 90's on Tuesday night, the heatwave was felt all over Howell including Town Hall.

The July Town Council meeting was postponed shortly before executive session was scheduled to start after the air conditioning system malfunctioned.

Township Manager Helene Schlegel said a blown coil resulted in the malfunction which caused the meeting to be cancelled. Schlegel said as of Tuesday night township offices were scheduled to be open as normal. There is still no word on when the meeting would be rescheduled for, but it will likely be before the month ends.

Forecasts for tomorrow do not predict much of a break in the heat as the National Weather Service is calling for a high of 90 in the township. The temperatures look to return to the 80's by Wednesday and stay there until early next week.
