Chamber Election Event Postponed

Scheduling conflicts move event date

A planned debate between the candidates on the has been postponed while the organizers look for a new date. 

Sue Dominguez, Executive Director of the , said the Sept. 20 date was canceled by the board of education due to scheduling conflicts. Set to be moderated by the League of Women Voters the debate was going to be held at the old Southard School building which is now the home of the . 

Dominguez said the Chamber has asked for new dates so the event can still be held ahead of the November elections. 

The Chamber is still set to hold two events for the race for Mayor. One event was already held for independent candidate . Democratic Candidate is set to address the Chamber's Business Development Committee on Sept. 12 and Deputy Mayor will have the same opportunity on Oct. 10. All three events are being held at The Cabin.
