Council Calls Special Meeting on Manager Position

It has been two weeks since Township Manager Helene Schlegel announced her resignation and next week the council plans to take more steps to move the administration forward.

Late Wednesday night a message was sent from the township that a special council meeting has been scheduled for 5:30 on Thursday, September 26. The purpose of the meeting is listed on the website as “Personnel - Township Manager.”

There was no additional information provided but the council is scheduled to hold its second meeting of the month on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the new municipal building. At the first meeting of the month last week longtime Chief Financial Officer Jeffrey Filiatreault was named interim manager until a permanent person is named.

Filiatreault has served in similar situations in the past and announced recently his intention to retire as CFO early next year.
