Council Meeting Tonight at Echo Lake Park

Meeting to be held in park's pavilion

As the summer comes to an end the Howell Township Mayor and Council will be getting away from Town Hall for their first meeting of September. 

Tonight's meeting is being held in the pavillion of Echo Lake Park with an agenda that covers a variety of township business. 

According to the preliminary agenda there will be a presentation by the Lake Restoration and Wildlife Committee about the lake.

Under the consent agenda items there is a resolution to apply for County Open Space Trust Funds to buy property located at 351 Maxim Rd. There is also a public hearing about the possible purchase on the agenda. The cost of the property is listed at $98 thousand according to the agenda. 

There is also scheduled to be a public hearing on an ordinance that would drop the speed limit at the north end of Colts Neck Rd. from 50 MPH to 40. There would also be two speed limit signs installed on the road and a "No Outlet" sign would be replaced with a "Dead End" sign."

The pavilion at Echo Lake Park has also been discussed recently by the council as they have for people interested in renting out the building for events.
