Howell Residents Support Republican Victories

No local elections keep turnout low

With nobody on the Township Council up for election this year, residents of Howell were left to vote in the county and state elections for this cycle.

The lack of a local election may have contributed to a low voter turnout, but those who did come out and vote sided decidedly with the Republican party. Out of the 33,392 registered voters in the town, just 5391 residents cast a vote in this year's elections.

In the State Senate race, Senator Robert Singer won another term and won the vote in Howell. With 3,422 votes Singer out paced township resident Steve Morlino who received 2,280 votes in his hometown.
