Road Projects to Begin This Week

Closures expected over course of the next month

With the arrival of fall and before winter makes its presence felt the township has announced a series of road projects over the course of the next month. The projects will result in road closures while the repair work is done. 

According to Township Manager Helene Schlegel, the first project will start on Monday with Asbury Ave. set to be temporarily closed. On Oct. 31 Merrick Road is slated for closure while repairs on done on that street. The first week of Nov. should see work on Richard and Victory Roads. The final projects as part of this group of repairs is set for Nov. 14 when work is scheduled for Sunset, Shady and Middle Lanes as well as West Second St.

Schlegel said that while these are the tenative dates for the projects to start the schedule could change depending on the weather. She added that depending on the weather the impacted roads could be closed for up to 10 days.
