Davies Throws for 3 TDs but Howell Falls

Old Bridge wins 35-29 in NJSIAA football consolation game

Senior quarterback Ryan Davies threw three touchdown passes and running back Nick Carelli added a score, but it wasn’t enough for Howell, which fell to Old Bridge 35-29 on Friday night in an NJSIAA consolation game.

The Rebels (4-5) fell behind when Old Bridge scored on an 8-yard run by Aaron Ford in the first quarter, and though Howell was able to put points on the board -- Davies threw touchdown passes to Brandon Yaegel and Tory Robinson in the second quarter, and another to Yaegel in the third quarter, but the Rebels could never overtake the Knights.

Howell closes out its 2011 season on Thanksgiving in a 10 a.m. game at Colts Neck, which won its consolation game on Friday night, beating Middletown North 47-14.
