Center for Healthy Living at Kimball Offers AARP Driving Safety Program

The Center for Healthy Living at Kimball Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, will host an AARP Driving Safety program for seniors to help older drivers maintain their mobility and independence.

A trained AARP instructor will teach seniors about various defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and general road rules, as well as tips to accommodate changes in vision, new distractions and the effect of certain medications on driving ability. After the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion that can be presented to insurance agents for a possible reduction in auto insurance premiums.

Each six-hour course will be held at The Center for Healthy Living at 198 Prospect St. in Lakewood from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (with a lunch break) on the following dates:

The fee for this program is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Space is limited and registration is required. Please call the Barnabas Health Link at 1.888.724.7123, prompt #4.
