                   Monmouth Ocean CHADD

 Monmouth Ocean CHADD is a local satellite of this nation's premiere organization serving children and adultswith Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD). CHADD affiliates, like Monmouth Ocean CHADD, offer support for individuals, parents, teachers, professionals and others.

CHADD is a membership organization that produces the bimonthly ATTENTION! Magazine (for members) and sponsors an annual conference.

The National Resource Center on AD/HD (NCR) is the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) funded national clearinghouse for evidence-based information about AD/HD.

  • Reach us by Phone (732-552-8012 M-F 9am-5pm). Our affiliate provides a contact number that either reaches a live person or takes a message. Our volunteers do their very best to return your call. You can also email the organizers through Meetup® or monmouth-county@chadd.net.
  • Parent and Adult Support Group Meetings We hold public bi-monthly meetings that are facilitated by qualified and expert parents and peers. 

 Professional Speaker Series

We also provide experts and authorities on ADHD for our members.  This special meeting features a monthly local clinician or educator presentation on various current topics, treatments, resources on ADHD.  These meetings are usually held separately from the monthly Parent and Adult Support Group meetings.                                  

Parent to Parent: Family Training on AD/HD

 P2P is a 14 hour, intensive training on ADHD provided by CHADD certified parents/professionals.  Participants receive extensive materials to support them, including articles, reference materials, handouts, and homework assignments. The curriculum is very structured and includes information on:

  • Overview of AD/HD •Assessment to Multimodal Treatment •Managing the Impact(s) of AD/HD on the Family •Developing Parenting Strategies and Positive Behavior Interventions •Educational Rights for Your Child with AD/HD •Building an Education Team: Bridging the Gap Between Home and School •Resiliency, Teen Challenges & Future Success

Evening Parent Support Group/Adult Support Group Meetings (the last Monday of each month)(Please note, these meetings start with everyone together and then we separate into two groups-one for parents and one for adults with ADHD/partners of adults with ADHD)
