Freehold Regional Goes Green

The Freehold Regional High School District is looking to cut down on paper usage.

In an effort to save trees, the has announced that they are going green for the upcoming school year.

The district will be introducing more environmentally-friendly methods for the 2012-2013 school year in order to cut down on paper usage.

The high school district is requiring students and their parents or guardians to complete and authorize all of the student forms online this year. The Family Education Privacy Act and Directory Notification of Rights must be read.

The Student-Family Handbook form, Internet/Intranet Use Agreement form, and Media and Information Release form must be reviewed, completed, and authorized by means of the district's Parent Portal system.

It doesn't look like they will put those STUPID and annoying contact info cards online. Why every year we have to fill out those cards in TRIPLICATE and for EACH child is beyond me. Its the same info! Put it online ONCE and have us update annually or if anything changes. AND DO NOT tie these forms to student grades or use other threats against the students to get them returned. FRHSD is so behind the times in using technology effectively.

Can we please stop the "going green" thing? It's getting stupid. People actually do understand the difference between "saving the planet" versus saving a few bucks on paper.
