Howell Schools Closed Monday

Classes already cancelled Tuesday for Election Day

The Howell Public Schools announced on Sunday morning that schools will be closed on Monday following Hurricane Sandy. 

Schools were already closed on Tuesday for Election Day but with power outages affecting more than 10 thousand Howell residents and some of the school buildings in town the district to closed for another day after schools were closed all last week.

Superintendent Enid Golden said a decision about the rest of the week will be made later as more power is restored to the township. With the NJEA canceling their convention in Atlantic City Golden said schools could be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The Freehold Regional High School District also announced on Sunday that schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
