Howell Schools Forming Strategic Planning Committe

Residents sought to help shape the future of the district.

One of the goals of the Howell Board of Education this year is to take a serious look at the district’s strategic plan going into the future. As part of that effort a committee is being formed and residents are being asked to join and provide feedback on where they would like to see the schools go.

Newly elected board president Stephen M. Levine sent a letter to parents asking them to join and help guide the future of the district.” Levine said the committee will have around 40 members made up of residents and school leaders. “We will work together to identify both the strengths of the school district (those special attributes that we can build on as we move into the future) and the critical issues we will face (the challenges that the district must be prepared for in the future.)”

The committee will meet on Friday February 21 from 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. and the next day from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Middle School North. Levine said work would be done in small groups and large groups with everyone working to find goals for the school. “The Board of Education will use this document to help shape strategic goals for the district as we move forward.”
