Middle School South Student Qualifies for National GeoBee State Competition

One of the 100 students to qualify statewide

Dina M. Brown, a seventh grader at has been qualified to represent not only her school but the district in the state level of the National Geographic Bee this month.

Getting to the National GeoBee is no easy feat. Students first competed at the school level against their classmates, answering questions like, "Which of the following cities has the least average annual rainfall? Sydney, Belize City or Kabul?"

Then the local champions had to take a standardized test to qualify for the state competition. Only the top 100 scores were accepted.

The state competition will take place on Mar. 30 at Rowan University. The national competition will take place at the end of May.
