St. Veronica Students Show Dramatic Skills

"Once Upon a Mattress" a success

Last month when the students at put on their interpretation of "Once Upon A Mattress," their work showed off through their costumes, set design and the quality of their performance.

Under the direction of Loretta Boyle, a music teacher at the school the musical was deemed a success by the people who saw the show. "My motivation for choosing this show was that to me theatre is about allowing the audience to sit back for that short time to forget their problems and just be entertained," she said.

Boyle said she was also glad the show was a comedy to give the audience members a chance to laugh as they admired the comedic talents of the students. "I knew we had the talent both musically and acting wise," she said. "This cast even exceeded my expectations."

Even though the curtain only recently closed, Boyle said she is excited for the future. "I am looking forward to next year's spring musical as I begin my research to see just what that may be," she said.
